Kelly + David Photoshoot

This beautiful couple is engaged! And guess who got to shoot their photos as a second??! You can see my photo inspiration from fellow photo enthusiast Tina... All in all it was a fun time at Old Poway Park. These photos turned out more wonderful than I could imagine, and some are so dreamlike! Kelly and David have such great chemistry, and I wish them the best time ever for their upcoming wedding in August and their new lives together!

Tina + Jay Photoshoot

This lovely family has grown since I took these pictures a couple of years ago. This is one of Tina and Jay's first photo sessions with me. We went to La Jolla Cove on an overcast day and shot some gorgeous photos. I'm not gonna lie - this was one of the funnest photo sessions I've done. Jay is quiet, but hilarious when he has something to say or do. Tina loves her little boy and hubby, and it shows in these photos. All of these poses came natural to all three of them! I just let them play and snapped away. I would say that photographing babies and pets are challenging, but it's worth getting that smile or oddball face that makes you laugh right back.

Laughter is the best medicine they say...
Cheers to lots of more laughs and oddball faces to come! :o)

P.S. Tina is the girl who has inspired me to blog, and reminded me how much I love photography

I always say...

"It's the photographer that makes the picture, not the camera."

Taken with my cell phone, a Palm Pre... A cell phone is good for two things in the photography world. One, it's handy when you're out-and-about and don't have your camera and you say to yourself, "I wish I had my camera." Everyone who has a cell generally always has their cell on hand. And two, when you need to send moments to your friends and fam that you desperately have to tell them about. This is the phone I've had for the past two years. Two things in why I own this phone in particular: This phone was FREE, and I have a great deal on the plan... Otherwise, I would totally get the new iPhone in white!! Sometimes, you just gotta work with what you have. And it ain't that bad! :o)

It's common to see rainbows in Hawaii. Sometimes you'll get a mist of light rain that lasts only for a few seconds because the clouds are just passing over the island during a warm day. This was a full rainbow that I couldn't back up enough to get the whole picture or else I would have been in the ocean at Ala Moana beach! It was actually a double rainbow. The outer rainbow was very faint. Can you see it??

A Holiday Photo Sesh

This photo session was shot back in December. For the holidays, Marisa and Greg wanted to share that they had a little someone on their way, their first baby! They used these photos for their holiday cards. We went to NTC Promenade for the shoot which was super-packed because they had a little festival going on, but we managed to escape the busyness and find some secluded spots with hardly anyone around. NTC Promenade covers a pretty large area and it used to be the former Naval Training Center in Point Loma. There are a lot of vacant buildings around so it wasn't that difficult to stroll a couple of hundred feet to find an empty space. Sawyer, their curious and energetic puppy joined us for the shoot as well! You can tell by his curly tail in the black and white photo that he's found something interesting!

In the first photo, Marisa has a little, red, Christmas present bow to showcase and hint what's in her belly. I'm so happy for this couple and see their family grow. The baby is so adorable, and maybe I'll have the opportunity to have a photo session with her soon!

Stay tuned! Have a great day!! :o)

Gorgeous Places of the USA

Surfers under the moon at Scripps Pier 7am. Starting off the 2010 New Year right!

An atypical green day at San Clemente Island, actually taken with my cell phone, a Palm Pre!

Lowtide at Scripps Pier after a sunset, where I grew up bodyboarding

A secluded beach called Lanikai on the island of Oahu, last year's birthday visit

Fresh tracks after a snow storm at Mammoth Mountain, taken while I sat on the ski lift

Enjoying a super-red-orange lit sky after a sunset at Scripps Pier, La Jolla, California

These are some gorgeous places that I've visited in the USA. I love sunsets. I think they are one of the most beautiful landscapes I can capture. Not to mention the anticipation and peaceful silence of waiting for the sun to end a lovely day and begin a perfect evening. I have the privilege of living by the ocean and bay, so stay tuned for more of those oceanic, beachy-type photos! I look forward to shooting at different locations, but I'm so happy to say that the beach is my neighborhood and playground.

None of these photos were edited, except for the surfers under the moon - I chose to align the horizon, and I used Adobe Lightroom for that.

Feel free to subscribe or comment if you like what you see! Thanks for looking, and stayed tuned for more! ;o)

Cause baby you're a firewooork!

Fireworks shooting from the city skyline of downtown San Diego

Hi there! I've finally decided to bust out of my shell and share my love for pressing buttons, aka photography. Funny to say that, one of the hardest parts of starting this, was to settle on a title for my blogspot. I've enjoyed photography from as far as I can remember. When I was younger, my Ma got me a 120mm film camera, a polaroid camera, and a bunch of disposable 35mm cameras. Then I moved up to a Kalimar 35mm SLR while I developed all my film and photographs. That got really expensive! And after giving away all of those cameras and putting photography on hiatus for about seven years, I have been an owner of a Canon SD250 digital point-and-shoot and a Nikon D60 DSLR with a standard 18-55 lens and 18-200mm lens, for the past two years.

Hope you enjoy!! :o)
